Buffalo, NY --- Upstate NY’s The Felice Brothers are a close-knit band of two brothers and three longtime friends, all are self-taught, not one of them played an instrument prior to the band's inception in 2006 when they started busking in New York City subway stations.  The majority of their work was recorded in a converted chicken coop in upstate New York near their hometown of Palenville. 2016 will see the release of a new studio album by The Felice Brothers. The follow up to the band's acclaimed 2014 Favorite Waitress; it was heralded recently by The Albany Times Union as "freewheeling, loose and heartfelt . . . A wild cross between The Band and Nirvana.” The Felice Brothers make a long overdue return to Buffalo, NY next winter to headline at The Tralf on Friday, February 12th.

$23 Advance / $25 Day Of Show

Buffalo, NY -- Blending a unique mix of rock, bluegrass and African influences with a fiery, high energy Celtic foundation, Gaelic Storm shows have been called a "whirlwind ruckus". The rollicking Celtic rock quintet will perform at The Tralf on Sunday, February 21st, 2016.

Over the course of 10 albums and nearly 3,000 live shows, Gaelic Storm — the chart-topping, multi-national Celtic band — is dishing up a hearty serving of Full Irish - The Best of Gaelic Storm. The greatest-hits album spans the bulk of the band’s career, mixing crowd favorites and concert staples with three previously unreleased recordings, including “Whiskey in the Jar” and “Irish Party in Third Class” from Titanic.  The album features sea shanties and drinking songs, traditional tunes and Gaelic Storm originals, instrumental workouts and vocal showcases. Fans of traditional Irish music have championed the group for years, as have fans of harder-edged Celtic rock. Gaelic Storm has straddled the line between tradition and innovation for nearly two decades, infusing traditional Celtic music with modern influences, and updating the genre for a new generation of fans raised on rock, country and folk. Along the way, the group has topped the Billboard World Chart four times and earned a reputation as a hard-touring, genre-bending band.

Buffalo, NY --- No two sounds are the same coming from avant-garde rock act El Ten Eleven. Guitarist Kristian Dunn plucks a unique double-neck that incorporates a standard guitar and a bass, and Tim Fogarty backs him with acoustic and electronic drumming.  El Ten Eleven creates complex, deeply felt music, from scratch, onstage, with no help from laptops, click tracks or additional musicians. The duo chooses from an infinite number of guitar pedals and percussive tools in recording layer over layer of tracks in the creation of a loop happy two-man symphony. El Ten Eleven will be touring in support of their latest album Fast Forward, slated to perform at Mohawk Place on Friday, February, 26th.

Tal Wilkenfeld in Buffalo NY

ESI Events Presents

Tal Wilkenfeld

Doors 7pm  | Show 8pm

General Admission Event
Tickets - $14

Tal Wilkenfeld is a musical marvel; the kind of dynamic young talent whose fresh vision and uncanny intuition puts a whole new perspective on an age-old art form. Like a muse-lit meteor, Tal blazed upon the scene as a teen, sitting in with the Allman Brothers within months of her 2006 arrival in New York City. By the end of 2007, she had released her acclaimed instrumental debut, Transformation, hit the road with Chick Corea, appeared on A&E with Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter, and joined Jeff Beck’s world tour for what culminated in her global breakout moment: Her performance at Eric Clapton's 2007 Crossroads Festival in Chicago, which has generated more than 10 million YouTube hits.

Unanimous praise reverberated throughout the industry, leading Tal to relocate to Los Angeles and begin a steady recording pace with such artists as Prince, Macy Gray, Trevor Rabin, Jackson Browne, Joe Walsh, Ringo Starr, Brian Wilson, Toto, Todd Rundgren and Ryan Adams—in-between high profile tours with Jeff Beck that found her backing guests like Sting, Clapton, Jimmy Page, Mick Jagger, Steven Tyler, Buddy Guy, David Gilmour and Billy Gibbons (and led to her role anchoring Pharrell and Hanz Zimmer on the 2015 Grammy Awards). Ever the growing artist, Tal’s collaborations with Jackson Browne and encouragment from Jeff Beck and Herbie Hancock to make her live vocal debut with their bands served as key transitions to her next path as a singer-songwriter. Stellar singing samples include her poignant cover of “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” from the Amazon holiday collection stream, All Is Bright, and her stirring YouTube channel performance of “Chelsea Hotel.”

Tal has now completed the writing and recording of her debut vocal album which she plans to release in 2016. The music is an intoxicating, intimate reimagining of the singer-songwriter idiom, comprised of improvisational music bloodlines, rock energy and intensity, and lyrics rich in both realism and folk symbolism—all delivered via vibrant, revealing vocals and world-class musicianship.

7pm Doors | 8pm Show

With a musical career spanning more than thirty-five years, guitarist, sonic innovator, and two time Grammy nominee Tim Reynolds is known for his masterful command of melody and timing and for his uncanny ability to improvise on any instrument he touches. Having explored most musical styles, from rock, jazz and blues to classical and reggae, Reynolds’ wide-ranging musical versatility is evident each time he picks up his electric or acoustic guitar. Technically brilliant, yet emotionally honest, Reynolds’ music is inspired and authentic.

It was in the mid 1980s in Charlottesville, VA, when Reynolds founded his breakthrough electric power trio, TR3 (Tim Reynolds Trio), known for their fusion of funk, rock, and jazz. He toured with TR3 during the 1980s and 1990s, using a rotating cast of musicians. It was at this time he befriended Dave Matthews and their ongoing musical collaboration began. Tim eventually decided to relocate to Santa Fe, NM, and pursue a solo career. His musical progression continued throughout his many years on the road as a solo guitar wizard, playing for packed houses and to crowds who quickly determined that Reynolds is one of the most talented and thoughtful musicians on the circuit today.

Reynolds is currently lead guitarist for the Dave Matthews Band and performs as one-half of the acoustic Dave Matthews-Tim Reynolds duo. He has performed on nearly all of DMB’s CDs.

Buffalo, NY --- Next winter, highly acclaimed Providence based indie folk band Deer Tick will embark on a short tour showcasing a more “stripped down,” acoustic-focused incarnation of the band, previously debuted at Lincoln Center NYC as part of the American Songbook Series. John McCauley and Deer Tick have long walked a tightwire between total despair and fractured resilience, but their latest album Negativity represents a heroic leap forward on virtually all fronts for the band. Recorded with legendary producer/musician Steve Berlin (The Blasters, Los Lobos, and last year’s McCauley side project, Diamond Rugs), the album –Deer Tick’s fifth full-length studio release, and follow-up to 2011’s acclaimed Divine Providence – is McCauley’s most personal work thus far as well as the band’s most undeniable and universal, their famously freewheeling musical approach refined here into a gloriously cohesive whole.

w/ Craig Finn

7pm Doors | 8pm Show

$16.00 -   On Sale December 18th

Buffalo, NY --- The Most Lamentable Tragedy [hereafter TMLT] is the fourth studio album by Titus Andronicus [hereafter +@] and the band’s debut for Merge Records. A rock opera in five acts, it was released this past summer. The central narrative of TMLT (“a work of fiction,” claims singer/songwriter Patrick Stickles) concerns an unnamed protagonist whom we meet in deep despair. Following an encounter with his own doppelgänger (an enigmatic stranger, identical in appearance though opposite in disposition), long held secrets are revealed, sending our protagonist on a transformative odyssey, through past lives and new loves, to the shocking revelation that the very thing that sustains him may be the thing to destroy him.

TMLT is both the crown jewel of the band’s discography and the legend that contextualizes their entire body of work. It reveals that +@ are what hardcore fans have said they are for years, and what the world must now recognize them to be: not merely the greatest rock and roll band of this era, but one of the greatest rock and roll bands of all time. Titus Andronicus returns to The Tralf on Monday, March 21st, 2016 with direct support from The Hold Steady’s front man Craig Finn.

Buffalo, NY --- The world’s greatest McDonald’s-themed Black Sabbath cover band (or is it the world’s greatest Black Sabbath-themed McDonald’s band?) is coming to Buffalo, performing at The Tralf on March 27th 2016. According to legend, the band “traveled here through a very delicate part of the time space continuum.” The lineup consists of frontman Ronald Osbourne, who looks like the love child of that clown McDonald and Alice Cooper, a be-tusked Mayor McCheese, an extra demonic-looking Grimace, and a Hamburglar drummer that rocks Peter Criss-style makeup. It’s as if they started printing the Necronomicon on all McDonaldland menus.

Describing its sound as “Drive Thru Metal”, the culinary quintet serve up only the finest Sabbath parody jams .“Iron Man” has become “Frying Pan”, complete with the line “All our future is pink slime,” while “Paranoid” has  been re-heated as “Pair-a-buns”. (There’s also tunes called “Sweet Beef” and “Chicken for the Slaves”.) Even if the songs are dripping with onions and extra cheese, Mac Sabbath put on one righteous stage show, complete with smoke machines, gritty power chords, and endless head-banging

7pm Doors | 8pm Show

Buffalo, NY --- Ever since he first picked up a guitar, Tommy Castro believed. He believed he would not only be able to make a living playing music, but could develop his own signature sound, fusing blues with R&B and roots rock ‘n’ roll. And he has done just that. Castro began his career playing in local Bay Area cover bands prior to joining the nationally touring R&B party band, The Dynatones. Since forming his own band and relentlessly touring the world, Castro has become one of the blues’ top drawing artists and best-loved performers, known worldwide for his impassioned vocals, forceful guitar work, striking songwriting and galvanizing live show.

Publications across the country, from The Washington Post to The San Francisco Examiner, have sung Castro’s praises. Guitar Player called Castro “the hardest working bluesman on the scene today.” The Philadelphia Inquirer declared, “Castro plays infectious, roaring roadhouse romps with incendiary licks and a touch of New Orleans soul.” According to The San Francisco Chronicle, “Castro navigates seriously funky Southern soul, gritty big city blues and scorching rock…his silvery guitar licks simultaneously sound familiar and fresh.” Carlos Santana, with whom Castro has performed, said, “Tommy Castro has the voice and the sound to touch everybody’s heart.”

Buffalo, NY – 2015 saw London based four-piece alternative rock outfit Wolf Alice on the brink of a major breakthrough. Formed in 2010, the band released their debut album My Love Cool (Dirty Hit/RCA Records) last summer. The Observer described their sound as “an engaging strain of off-kilter indie rock” while Clash described the band as “the lovechild of folk and grunge”. Back home, they achieved Best Breakthrough Artists at the UK Festival Awards, landed on the coveted “long list” for BBC Sound of 2015, were pegged as one of iTunes’ “Artists For 2014,” was UK’s most blogged about artist and reached “#4 most blogged artist on Hype Machine” in the same year.

Stateside, in addition to selling out their first 2015 shows in L.A. and New York, early support arrived with enthusiasm from KCRW, The Fader, and Billboard who dubbed them an “Artist to Watch” for 2015.  The band was recently nominated for a 2016 Grammy in the Best Rock Performance category for their track 'Moaning Lisa Smile'. Wolf Alice rolls thru The Tralf this spring on Wednesday, April 6th. It will undoubtedly be the only opportunity to catch this rising artist in an intimate club setting.

Live performance on KEXP

Buffalo, NY – Carry The Ghost, the second full-length album from acclaimed singer/songwriter Noah Gundersen, was released via Dualtone Music last summer. Carry The Ghost is the follow up to Gundersen’s celebrated 2014 debut LP Ledges, which garnered high praise in the press, which included SPIN, USA Today, Magnet, as well as four-star reviews in Mojo, Blurt and People Magazine, who also named Ledges one of the year’s best albums. Gundersen made his network television debut performance on CBS Saturday Morning and was featured on Last Call with Carson Daly. Gundersen began touring when he was 18, and released three solo EPs between 2008 and 2011. His songs have appeared in a number of TV shows including Vampire Diaries and multiple times in Sons of Anarchy, for which he received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Original Music & Lyrics. On Carry The Ghost, Noah Gundersen has hit another artistic peak, but at a mere 26 years old, and seeing his career trajectory, it is abundantly clear that he is nowhere near the apex.

Buffalo, NY --- Seeing Reverend Horton Heat live is a transformative experience. Flames come off the guitars. Heat singes your skin. There’s nothing like the primal tribal rock & roll transfiguration of a Reverend Horton Heat show. Jim becomes a slicked-back 1950′s rock & roll shaman channeling Screamin’ Jay Hawkins through Buddy Holly, while Jimbo incinerates the StandUp Bass. And then there are the “Heatettes”. Those foxy rockabilly chicks dressed in poodle-skirts and cowboy boots slamming the night away. It’s like being magically transported into a Teen Exploitation picture from the 1950′s that’s currently taking place in the future.

Listening to the Reverend Horton Heat is tantamount to injecting pure musical nitrous into the hot-rod engine of your heart. The Reverend’s commandants are simple. And no band on this, or any other, planet rocks harder, drives faster, or lives truer than the Reverend Horton Heat. These “itinerant preachers” actually practice what they preach. They live their lives by the Gospel of Rock & Roll.

Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band

7pm Doors | 8pm Show
21+ Admitted

Buffalo, NY – Roaring out of the southern Indiana foothills comes Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band playing a brand of Americana and Blues that stands alone – Delta blues and hillbilly fervor combine with musical acuity sharp as razor wire – best know, this trio is a force to be reckoned with. The growl of a good truck engine, the fiercest passion for his country home and family and an uncanny ability to breathe new life into old forms of music give them a pedigree many Americana acts would kill for and an ironclad work ethic keeps them on the road 250 dates a year, playing for the people with hurricane force.

Locked in with an audience, the band create their own community and welcome the crowd into it, transporting them away from their troubles to joyous release, the way great musicians have done for centuries. The Rev. J. Peyton, his wife Breezy and distant cousin Aaron “Cuz” Persinger are a living breathing embodiment of the traditions and hard work ethic native to their Brown County, Indiana home. Their newest album So Delicious is a chronicle of this lifestyle. Reverend Peyton returns to The Tralf Music Hall on Wednesday May 4th.

Drawing inspiration from the inevitable delusions of everyday American life, Rogue, his longtime bandmate Pat Spurgeon, and their fellow members have returned reinvigorated, and with a fresh sound founded on the art of patience, the fearlessness of experimenting, and the unbridled joy of creating something meaningful to help us navigate through these vacant times. Trusting in its own abilities and leaning on each other, Rogue Wave has seized creative control of its identity and sound and is set to smash any preconceptions of its music, revealing the most truthful, powerful, and urgent sonic blueprint of the band to date.
